Everything Comes Handy With Detailed Wedding Checklist

Monday, June 30th, 2008

By Apurva Shree
Organizing a wedding party is not a child play unless you create a detailed wedding checklist. The complexities related to the various events involved in wedding preparations are really mind-boggling. To be able to cover all the important aspects of the day, you need to have a detailed version of the original wedding checklist. At times, while you note down something, you do not think about the minute issues related to it. Thes….

Glimpses

Monday, June 30th, 2008

My knowledge of Edith Wharton’s work has been, sadly, just limited to movie productions of her novels, but thanks to the Slaves of Golconda I finally read one of her novels. This month we are discussing The Glimpses of the Moon so if you’ve read it or just want to read more about it, please check out the blog posts at the Slaves blog or head over to the MetaxuCafe Forums. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. From what I’ve read online, Edith Wharton was known for combining her insider’s view of Amer

Video courtesy of my gorgeous wife, the exquisite Ravenelle Zugzwang I love experiencing exceptional stuff in Second Life, and this is an exception among exceptions! Disclosure: I’m beta-testing Damien Fate’s newest creations, the Loco Pocos, which effectively translates to “Crazy Tinies” from Spanish. This post is for Arduous*

Monday, June 30th, 2008

This post is for Arduous* We’re going camping on Thursday! Until Monday! Woo hoo! The campsite was chosen by a group of friends who stayed there last year (we were too busy with wedding planning) and liked it so much they decided to make it an annual event. They’ve spun us an enticing tale of sunshine (it’s in the desert - I bought extra sunscreen during my lunch break), wine tours, volleyball, happy dogs (2 giant schnauzers and a lab/boxer cross are coming with us), jet skiing (arrgghh CARB

De-Stress (for the moment)

Monday, June 30th, 2008

George Michael concert (view large to actually see him) First off - GO TO A GEORGE MICHAEL CONCERT!! Even if you don’t really care for him… GO!! That was seriously one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. And knowing I paid $25 for seats, when a woman next to me paid $250, was wonderful. (from what I’ve seen, it looks like tix for all shows are being put on sale the Fri before the performance.) The sole negative was that the stage was a little low for the amount of floor seating th

Former “Idol” Paris Bennett: Pregnant

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Paris Bennett was an early favorite on the fifth season of American Idol and now her rep confirms to People that the singer is pregnant. Bennett, 19, is expecting her first child later this year and her mom, Jamecia Bennett, told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that the father “chooses not to be in the public eye.” She also says that Paris “has a ring” and hopefully she’ll be planning a wedding in the near future. Paris released her debut album Princess P in 2007.

EX AMERICAN IDOL PARIS BENNETT PREGNANT

Monday, June 30th, 2008

“American Idol” 2006 contestant Princess P is becoming a mommy. Paris Bennett is expecting a baby girl in October and will be 20 when mommyhood arrives. “This makes five generations,” an overjoyed Jamecia Bennett, told me Thursday. Jamecia, who like her daughter and mother is a singer, is absolutely over the moon about being a first-time grandmother. “I’m proud of how she did it. I was 16 when I got pregnant,” said Jamecia. Paris’ great-grandmother is Shirley T. Bennett, 75, of Rockford, Ill.;

Religious Autobiography 1998-2002

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Part 1 of this series is here: Religious Autobiography 1980-1998. Before I left for college, I was warned by a couple of members in my home church that the church of Christ in Kirksville was not sound. You see, they had a kitchen in their basement. I was encouraged to drive to Macon, MO where there was a sound church. I didn’t like the idea of driving 30 miles on a dangerous 2 lane road every time I wanted to go to church. I did visit the church in Macon once and I didn’t find it to be worth t

NBA playoffs = douche night

Monday, June 30th, 2008

NBA playoffs = douche night 1 Comment This night was impressively bad. This is why I fear if I stay in Los Angeles, I may be single forever. First off the 6 foot 3 guy next to us decides that once the game starts, he needs to stand up. In front of us. And block the TV. And then he makes the wise decision to use one of the only available barstools (which he had been sitting on prior to the beginning of the game) for his jacket, even though there were people who arrived over an hour prior to
